Spring Break Down

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed at the beginning of Spring Break. I was bummed we didn't have any big awesome vacay planned & we were mostly going to be just hanging around home. But, I have to say Spring Break 2011 was one of my most favorite yet!

Here is how I spent my week of freedom.

The first couple of days we enjoyed the sun! St. George springtime is the best!
I LOVE hanging out at home with my doors open. It's definitely my favorite thing.
I spent one afternoon hanging out in Dammeron. I love my Dammeron family. We can just sit at a park for hours and chat and laugh. Plus all the kiddos that I used to babysit, now babysit my babe. It's crazy. And awesome. I love them all so much.

On Thursday Kode, Jett, and I loaded up and headed to Vegas. We attempted to make big plans, but ultimately knew we would just be here the whole day...
It was amazing. And huge. Cesar's is now home to the largest H&M in the world. And because it's the largest, the dressing rooms were giant! This was awesome because we just set up a little Jett station where he napped, played, and ate. All while Kody and I switched off trying on and shopping. We all loved it and had such a great day together!
We then headed to The Cheesecake Factory before we were back on the road.

On Saturday we headed up north for my mom's birthday. We knew it was going to be a short trip, just Sat to Mon, but we couldn't miss it!

When we pulled in the Davis' were there waiting for us! Trey is so great with Jett! Aren't they the cutest?!!

On Sunday my grandparents planned such a fantastic party for my mom and her twin brother Troy. Did you know she's a twin? She is! I love that. Mostly because my odds of having twins are so much higher. Cross your fingers! :)
My nephews are hilarious. And freaking adorable. I love them.

Jase, Tara, Jett, and I all enjoying the party.
This is my grandpa and Jett. I love this shot.
This is my cute mom and her twin Troy. We all went around and said something we love about them. It was neat. And touching. Ask Shay. She SOBBED through the entire thing. She's pregnant so we gave her a pass..
Trey and Jett being cute.
I LOVE these people. A lot.
How darling is this? Can you believe that hottie is 50?! And a grammy to 4, soon to be 5, grandsons?! She is such an amazing person. We are all so lucky to have her in our life, and I love her so much. My little family is so thankful for her, and we LOVE all the time we get to spend with her.
Bubba loves puppies. Can you tell?
This is my aunt Holly. I do not see her nearly enough. My Holly quota is not anywhere close to being filled.
Jett and I chillin'.
My cute mom again. On Sunday night we gave her our gifts, ate a fab dinner, and played a fun game (that I forced everyone into :)! I love my family so much, and I need to go up more often. Life just happens so fast I forget to make more of an effort. I love you family.

On Monday we went to a fun lunch with my mom. It was her actual birthday so we let her choose. It was nice. Then we were off! Trips up north are never complete without a trip to IKEA. I think that is why I loved my week so much. My two favorites, IKEA and H&M, in the same week! This pic is mostly for my mom, but I love their window treatments and had to give you a peak at the new ones hanging in our kitchen!
We also, finally, got Jett a highchair. See it? Ikea has great ones! I was so excited, and was pumping Jett up for his new highchair adventure, but he hates it. He is the same way in shopping carts. I don't get it? He sits up so well, but the second I put him in one of these 2 things, he flings himself all around. I'm not even going to ask if this is common. Mostly because I have figured out that Jett just does his own thing. He doesn't know which milestones go where and what is acceptable behavior for an 8 month old. Oh how I love my quirky little baby.

Jett also turned 8 months over spring break! Sorry I forgot a pic, but I have posted enough so just scroll up :) Here are a few things to know about him at 8 months..
* He scoots like a crazy man. But on his back. He did this a lot before, but the helmet offers much better sliding capabilities that it has just become out of control.
*He finds Kody completely hilarious. I, on the other hand, am just not nearly as entertaining. I can't say I didn't see this coming. All children find Kody awesome. My preschoolers meet him once and he's all they can talk about.
*He has found his sassy side. While he's still sweet and lovable, he has now figured out what he does and does not like. He hates when I am distracted while feeding him. I used to be able to multi task, but now it's all eyes on him or he's having a melt down.
*He is standing up to furniture, and has taken a few steps. But I still don't think he is in any way close to walking or crawling for that matter. He might be a back scooter for life.
* He is eating all kinds of baby foods now. Pretty much all stage 2.
*He LOVES toys. And his bouncy saucer thing is still one of his favorite things.

Well I could probably go on all night! I love him so much. He keeps me busy and happy.

Of all the years I have known your family I never knew your mom was a TWIN!!! How cool, she is a hot momma for 50! DOesn't look a day over 29 ;). Jett is such a stud, Stace! I love that the helmet aids in his scooting. You were at IKEA which happens to be my neighbor right now!! I'll have to head on over and check out their high chairs!
