giving THANKS

Today I feel BLESSED
For many reasons
But I want to talk about one reason especially.....

This is me. In front of a door. A door that opened many SURPRISES. Because it is Thanksgiving I thought I would list all the reasons I am THANKFUL I found this door....

  • for ALL the awesome kiddos who call me "teacher"
  • for giving me a job where I move my body. It helps to move around all day.
  • for giving me something it is hard to call a "job". I truly LOVE what I do.
  • for all the life lessons. Countless life lessons.
  • for the responsibility.
  • for opening my eyes to all the awesome people I have in my life. I have ENDLESS support.
  • for finding Kody. Kody and I were married a mere 4 months when this adventure began. Talent Sprouts truly showed me who I married. You should all be crazy jealous. Amazing. They said a new business would kill a marriage, it's our rock.
  • for the massage once a month. I trade with a sprout mom, best decision EVER. Her child will be a sprout for life!!
  • for the memories made with my SILS. I love those girls.
  • for the past, present, and future.

There is plenty more, but I think that sums it up pretty well. I think Talent Sprouts is awesome, and I am THANKFUL everyday it is in my life.

Because I am being thankful, I must thank Wells Fargo. Having a job is a blessing these days, 1 year ago today we were in a much different place. **WARNING: proud wife moment** Today I can happily say Kody was blessed this week with a promotion. It's funny when you finally decide you are happy and content with where you are, something great happens?! Kody DESERVES it. I love you.

I LOVE WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!

Kody's work schedule has changed a bit. Which means he actually has every other Saturday off! This makes me happy.
Friday: We turn on Netflix. We unfortunately started this HORRIBLE series last weekend called Harper's Island from CBS. It was disgusting but we decided to give it one more chance. And yes, we ended up watching ALL 13 episodes? Don't ask me to explain, because I can't. Needless to say, I was up all night thinking of John Wakefield.
Saturday: After staying up way to late the night before I wake up to this:
Kody: (so cheerfull and annoying) Hi Rin! Do you want a job this morning!!!!!!
I look at the clock 7:30 AM!! All I could say was: What the hell are you doing!
Kody: Cleaning out the garage, I could use a sweeper!
To say Kody is a project person is an understatement. He has cleaned out the garage every weekend since we've moved in! Ha. Well I gave in and went out to help him, because I love him and it was BEAUTIFUL outside. I couldn't resist. After we showered and got ready for the day we were off. We went to lunch, Target, Pier 1, and Best Buy.
We also ran over to the Butler's to see new baby Rocko....

He's so sweet. We had fun visiting and seeing the progress on their new place.
Later that night we met Riley and Danielle at Players for dinner and the Jazz Game. It was so much fun!! We love hanging out with them.
Sunday: It was our Stake Conference in our ward today. So we just hung out at home and did some laundry and caught up on all of our shows from the past week. We did get out to grab a Pepsi and take a drive around town.
There you have it. A weekend with the Rogers.

AM I CRAZY?
Possibly. We have decided to get a little puppy! I am so EXCITED. He is only one week old, so we won't get to bring him home until around Christmas time. He is a puggle, half beagle half pug. Have you heard of them? I started looking into them awhile ago, but they were a little pricey. Until a friend referred me to KSL, and I found the perfect one!! It's probably a good thing we don't get him for awhile, because we can not agree on a name! Kody loves King Friday (from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood). This is not a joke, he will not let it go. I have come up with a million, but the only one we can agree on is Teddi. Let me know if you have any cute names for us to try out!!
The breeder, Mark, is so great! He sent me a bunch of pictures of the litter before Teddi's so we can get an idea of what his coloring will be like. The picture above is one of his brothers. Mark said they have all had this same look. I'm a little nervous because we didn't get to go and pick him out according to his personality, but apparently I should just be happy I got one because he was sold out in 2 days! We can't wait to bring him home!!
*We will try hard to not be one of those annoying couples who just have dogs and not kids. You know.... You've seen their family photos. BUT I won't guarantee anything...

SO...

I heart Thursdays.
They are like our Saturdays. But better because everyone else is at work so we feel like rebels when we are curled up on the couch (with the fireplace on...I love that now it's actually cold outside when we use it! davis') catching up on our favorite shows at 2:00 in the afternoon!

I actually had a BLAST at Talent Sprouts' 3 year old Halloween EXTRAVAGANZA! We decorated the whole room in their Halloween art from the month, painted paper sack pumpkins (homemade....BY ME), sang songs, trick or treated to the fellow businesses, and played pumpkin bowling! Not to mention how freaking DARLING all of them were. Olivia came in a homemade cupcake costume. Seriously to die for. Lace promised me she would sew my future kids costumes. And yes I'm holding her to it! Fun day. Can't wait to do it all over again for the 4 year olds tomorrow.....I think? HA.

Kody spent the morning in the attic running all the cords, wire, cables whatever to the tv. I felt bad because it was freezing (and I started recalling all the nagging about the wires everywhere), but soon realized it was all so he could catch up on some XBOX love. He deserves it...and now I have time to blog!

I am so excited the Holidays are on the way! Thanksgiving with the Call's and Christmas with the Rogers' this year. We already have some fun things planned and I'm counting down the days.

I hope you feel updated!

trey is 3!!

Trey's Birthday is TODAY! YAY!
We had such a fun weekend! My mom, Shay, and the boys arrived Friday afternoon and headed back up north Monday night. We had such a relaxing weekend making dinner at home, watching movies, and swimming! Here are some pics..

The Birthday boy!

Shay and Cade heading to the park down the path from my house.
My mom and Trey running, Trey's favorite activity.
Me and Caders!

Cade LOVES swimming!

Everyone in the pool. It was such a great weekend! The weather was awesome!

"Kody will you help me build a train track?"

Since all we did on their last trip was stuff for the house we decided we weren't going to do any house stuff this trip....
UNTIL we saw these beauties...And since all we had to do was pack them in the car we felt good about it. Then we got them inside and we felt GREAT about it!
Halloween is coming up SO fast! My mom did not bless me with the love for Halloween. She will openly admit she highly dislikes this holiday. Here is a preview of my childhood costumes she would put me in: Jason's sport uniforms (football, baseball, basketball, etc.). They would actually end up fitting me considering the number of sweat suits she had underneath. A random outfit with wings, a fairy I'm guessing? Just the sweat suits, with out the uniforms, and a painted black nose, cat maybe? She did take advantage of all the Halloween candy. Our house would be loaded! Hahaha! In teaching preschool I must love ALL holidays, well I'm working on it!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I love fall.
It always reminds me why I STILL live in St. George.
Today was so awesome...weather wise....no comment on life today...
Before I go on with my endless rambling, I have to give a shout out to the red sox! I am unfairly being blamed for their ELIMINATION (by my dad...enough said?) because I did not mention them on my blog. So to make up for it I am highlighting their loss. Hmmm? Well I'll make sure they feel my love next summer....in person. BRING ON THE BIG GREEN MONSTER!
Other than the weather (seriously? my blog is lame) we are stuck in the daily grind. Anyone else feeling this way? We did our best to break away from this today. We went to lunch, then for a walk. That helped. But then we came home and I worked and vacuumed, while Kody did projects here and there. Our visitors this weekend (my mom shay and the boys) should liven up our daily routine!
I hope your Fall is starting off great!

DURING....

AHH! Good work Kode.

Down the hall. We ripped up all the old flooring. Which was carpet and tile. Slade was here for that day! Thanks bro, your awesome.

This was the mess we lived in for about 2 weeks. It was worth it!

My painting buddies. My mom and Shay! Love ya girls.

AFTER....
* Forgive the bare walls, and no window treatments. We'll get to it! :)

Family room! We'll get to all those cords! Kode is not going to be thrilled I put this up before he ran all those through the wall, but you can picture it right?? Ha.
Sorry this pic is dark. But I love the big windows!!!

Here is a view of our entry way
Down the hall you will find 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The finished product! We love our new window and bar! Kody also built the bar, with the help of Kaden, Lace, and me of course! We love it! Now we just need to find some bar stools...
Another look..

Our kitchen! One day we will paint the cabinets and do a few other things, but we like it for now.
Kode's first home project! Cleaning the air things. See that smile? That didn't last too long...Haha just kidding, he is a project MASTER
The view out my huge windows down to the pool and hot tub!aThe cute stree I was telling you about earlier! The trees are awesome, AND I don't even have to rake those leaves!!
We are just feeling so at home, and finally relaxing! Our first house guests, Angie and Steve, were down last weekend and it was so fun to hang out with them! We hope you all come down and stay, we would love to see you!!!!!!
My mom, Shay, and the boys will be down here this weekend. No need to bring the painting clothes this trip :).

where to begin...

Life has been crazy the past few months.
That may be an understatement.
Am I happy about it?
LOVE IT.
Sorry I don't have any pics of the new and improved house....I don't have my camera cord! Soon I promise. I thought I would just update on the goings on...
I can officially say I am actually sitting in my living room and there is not 1 power tool laying on the floor!!!! YES. I do have to say I would murder {might be an exaggeration...MIGHT} someone if they put a power tool on my new carpet! I think I'm going to be one of those "no shoe rule" people. So if you come to my house SHOES OFF! Can I tell you that my FAVORITE thing about our new house is actually the street we live on. Our neighborhood is so sweet. One of my neighbors is already a Talent Sprout. So cute.
There isn't really anything else going on....We are loving the weather. Fall is by far my favorite time of year! Well I'm feeling like this is a pointless post...Ha.

I think my birthday this year was one of the best ever!
Not only did I turn the big 23
But I got the BEST birthday present ever.....

Our first home!

On my birthday we bought our first home. It was so fun and exciting, and my mom is the greatest to make the whole thing wrap up on my birthday!

I will post more pics as soon as these projects in progress are all done...

  • Painting
  • New floors
  • New wall
  • And a whole lot of cleaning!

We have had such a blast this weekend getting some of these projects done and hanging out with family.

We need to say THANK YOU to some awesome people who were SO HELPFUL the past couple weeks.

My mom. She is the greatest real estate agent I know!!! Mom you are also the greatest edger I know! We've had so much fun this past month. Love ya.

Ed and Cheryl for letting us crash at their place for a couple weeks. You guys are so great. We love you. And Kody really owes his dad BIG for helping with the giant hole he put in the wall. Hahaha.

My sweet grammy. Wow. That lady can CLEAN! She came down with my mom this weekend to take on the many projects. We love her so much.

The Davis'. Slade put in our new fixtures. We couldn't have done it with out him. Shay is, as always, my right arm. While I was at work she made all the moving decisions, and I just couldn't do anything with out her. The boys were so cute, and I Love taking Trey to school to hang out with some buddies.

We have such awesome family who are so willing to drop everything to come and help. We love you, and couldn't do it without ya!

Short & Sweet

Over Labor Day weekend we headed up north. It was just a short trip, we left late Saturday and came home Monday, but still had an awesome time! My family is such a DOER family. I think we all just get bored way to easily. So in the short time we were there we went to Bear Lake, had a camp out, played at Toads, swam, and shopped in Park City.
Here are some pics of us at Bear Lake...

My only shot of us playin in the pool. It's a good one though!! Love those two.

Our camp out in the backyard!

Well it was a BLAST! I didn't get any pics of us in Park City, too much shopping! I'm so excited to see everyone down here in St. George next weekend!!! YAY! I love you guys, thanks for such a fun weekend.
